Hey all. Well, to those who read these things anyway. If you are a regular visitor of the website (kudos to you if you are, really), then you might have noticed that, without even reaching Weekly Update #12, updates to SHfOH have stopped. What happened?
Simply put, I've decided to simply end SHfOH. This means I will no longer be managing SHfOH anymore, nor will I work on updating anything related to this site.
Why?
This website has been up since 2014. For nearly 3 years I've constantly updated this site, and while I have decided on a more permanent focus for SHfOH at around May 2015, it doesn't seem like anybody was too interested in what I was doing with the website. For 3 years, I've attempted to gather attention and recognition for providing a useful resource to people, but my efforts have seem to be wasted, because I don't know about you, but not reaching 3,000 pageviews in around 3 years is pretty pathetic in my honest opinion.
When I started doing the Weekly Update thing back in February, I expected this to be the thing that'll kickstart my website into getting more attention and such and get recognition for being a fairly useful resource to people. However, since starting and doing those Weekly Updates for almost 12 consecutive weeks (that's 3 months!), my website hasn't really gained a smidgen of any kind of recognition. Things have stayed the exact same as it was even 2 years ago in terms of views.
So, I've decided to pull the plug on SHfOH entirely, because honestly what's the point of keeping a website up that no one is interested in, right? Thought so.
What does this mean? Will the website go down?
No. The website will still be up and host whatever is currently on the website at this given moment. However, submissions for osu! beatmaps and such will be permanently disabled, while some things (like About and Feedback) will be entirely removed. The contact email address will still be available if you wish to contact me for removal of certain things hosted on the website, but that is as far as updating SHfOH I will go from this point forward.
To those who regularly visited SHfOH for whatever time you've done so for, I sincerely thank you. Dedicated people who knew of this niche resource and tried to help keep it alive were the reason I hadn't pulled the plug on the website much earlier than I did.
But after 3 years in the making, I've got nothing else to say but...goodbye.
Rest in peace, SHfOH.
